The Value of New gTLD Domain Names:
This question really means several different things. Let's look at the current value of these domains, growth potential for domain name investors, and value from an SEO stand point as a fully realized product, a website.
Current Value of New gTLD Domains:
Casino.store sold for over $200,000. The.club sold for $300,000, Home.loans sold for $500,00 and many other new gTLD domains have sold for thousands (source: DN Journal.com). These domains have instant fire power, and the short/high search volume exact match keywords are selling for big bucks. Personally, I have sold multiple domains for 10X-200X the cost of the registration fee.
Investment Potential for Domainers:
This is obviously speculation. However, research indicates that there is a very good chance that this is just the tip of the iceberg. According to new gTLD stats (their website is
ntldstats.com, there are nearly 26.3 MILLION(!) currently registered new gTLD domain names. That name is growing every day. This is simple supply and demand. Registration cost is only a handful of dollars for many of these domains, and there is a finite amount of really, really good names available. In addition, the archaic "premium" (ie; Much More Expensive) system for the new gTLDs limits the choices (more on the non-sense that is the "premium" registration fee system in a future post-and how to use it to your advantage).
The best names are disappearing right under our noses, and many high dollar domain assets could have been scooped up for a couple of dollars. In a future post, I'll explain how to mine the best of what's left and show my new gTLD portfolio, assembled the same way I'll break down for anyone to use.
SEO Value and Potential As A Fully Developed Website:
Google says they are treating the new gTLDs just like they treat .coms or .orgs in their secret SEO indexing formula. In fact, they released a long statement to explain that fact in detail (read it here:
